Floods around Shelsley Walsh

All of the team had problems with the floods just getting to Shelsley Walsh and the watermill. Martyn’s Range Rover was the least troubled by the River Teme having burst its banks but John, Colin and Richard also made it as far as the mill. The road from Stanford Bridge was the only way into Shelsley Walsh and that was eight inches deep in water in places.

On arrival we were met by a number of members who live locally and advised that the water was still rising and could become a serious problem later in the day.

As the mill itself was secure there didn’t seem to be any need to risk being trapped. After a brief chat the team headed back to their homes, braving the waters for a second time.
